Anita reporting from hot hazy dubai. Have been fully occupied absorbing a whole different culture and lifestyle. The grand Hyatt will most probably be most lush hotel we will stay at . Marble and gold everywhere, an internal garden with waterfalls, pool and palm trees, state of the art gymnasium etc loads of Arabs in their traditional gowns and business men. Breakfast is part of the package so pigged out ( no pun intended) on most that was offered. Only veal bacon available ,quite nice. Also tried some dragon fruit and pomegranate but gave the sheep yogurt a miss. Paul said I will be known as the white whining b---h, I said my coffee wasn't hot enough, (they come around with coffee in jugs) and asked for a REALLY HOT coffee , the waiter went away quickly and came back with a delicious fresh cup of hot espresso coffee. I did keep reminding paul how nice it was as I sipped it slowly.
This morning did the tourist thing and went on a tour. 4 hours long . Interesting seeing all the local tourist attractions . Tourism is a big industry. Quite a bit of it involved walking in the 40c heat so drank a lot of water. The Germans and poms were fading fast. I quite enjoyed it as it added to the ambiance especially as the final stop was the spice and gold markets and we had a bit of time to wander. The locals were on us all haggling us to buy stuff.
Tomorrow will relax and at 4pm go on a desert safari outing involves desert 4wd'ing, camel riding, dinner, belly dancing etc so more later.
